Privacy Policy
How we handle the information you share through this website, and the choices you have.
Last updated November 6, 2026
Who we are
Bethesda Therapy Inc. (“Bethesda”, “we” or “us”) is a virtual therapy practice based in Edmonton, Alberta, seeing clients across Canada. We follow Canadian privacy law, including Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
This policy covers bethesdathera.com and the forms on it, and the messages you send us by email or phone. Once you become a client, your therapy records are handled under our client policies, which we send when you book your first session.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us through the website:
- Call and session requests: your name, phone number, email, the best time to reach you and what you’d like help with
- Messages: whatever you write to us
- Referrals from professionals: the referrer’s name, organization and contact details, and the client’s name, phone number, collision date, claim number, insurer, preferred language and a brief reason. Referrals are only sent with the client’s agreement.
- Care-First Ready session requests: your name, organization, email, team details and preferred dates
- Job and volunteer applications: your name, email, the role, your program and school, your availability, your resume and your message
Please don’t put health details in a form or email. Those are best shared on your call or in session.
What the website collects on its own
Our website host, Cloudflare, processes basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site and keep it secure. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t identify you. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, is sending them.
We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we never sell personal information.
How we use it
- To reply to you, arrange your free call and book sessions
- To follow up on a referral with the person referred and, with their consent, keep the referrer updated
- To arrange Care-First Ready sessions
- To review job and volunteer applications
- To keep the website working and secure, and to meet our legal obligations
We use your information only for the purpose you gave it for, or for a purpose the law allows.
Who we share it with
Only the people at Bethesda who need your information to help you can see it. We share it outside Bethesda only:
- with service providers who run our website, email and booking for us, and who must protect it
- with others, such as your insurer, only with your consent
- where the law requires or allows it, for example to prevent serious harm
Service providers outside Canada
Some of the services we use store or process information in the United States: Cloudflare (website hosting, security, analytics and spam checks), Resend (delivering form messages to our inbox) and Google Workspace (our email). Information held in another country can be subject to that country’s laws, including access by its authorities.
For written information about how we work with service providers outside Canada, or for any questions about it, contact our Privacy Officer using the details below.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose you gave it for, or as long as the law requires. After that, we delete or securely destroy it.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards: encrypted connections to this website, access limited to the people who need it, and secured accounts for the systems we use. If a breach ever put your information at real risk of significant harm, we would tell you and Alberta’s Information and Privacy Commissioner, as the law requires.
Your choices
- You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it
- You can withdraw your consent at any time, unless the law requires us to keep the information
- You can ask us questions about this policy or raise a concern
If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
